I meant to post this earlier in the month but time has gotten away from me.

It appears our Microsoft Lords have heard our cries and have decided that companies can purchase Windows Server 2022 outright as a onetime purchase as opposed to a subscription; although the subscription option is still available. However, you MUST have a Microsoft account. If you have Office 365, you already have one.

I found this information out from my channel partner earlier this month.

Do remember that I fully support Windows Server 2022 and have already deployed it for some clients.

If you are on Windows Server 2019, then Windows Server 2022 should not be on your radar. However, for those of you on Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2016, please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding upgrades.
