Making the leap to automated vitals. Anybody have experience with either the Welch Allyn or Midmark machines? Do they integrate smoothly with AC? Is it over wifi or bluetooth? Any advice is appreciated before shelling out 3 grand plus. Dave

Is no one using the Welch Allyn or Midmark vital sign monitors that integrate with Amazing Charts?

Is no one using the Welch Allyn or Midmark vital sign monitors that integrate with Amazing Charts? I was hoping that someone would speak up in the affirmative. We had a client try the Midmark a while back, but the integration wasn't successful, so they ended up getting their money back after some direct conversations.

Thanks Indy. It doesn't sound too promising. This came up one day a few weeks ago when my receptionist got Norovirus and one of my nurses was out of town, leaving my wife and I to run the clinic. She became receptionist, I became nurse and doctor for the day, leading to the epiphany of needing to automate the vital signs process. (Micro-practice dreams dashed!) Good to walk a day in your nurse's shoes if you haven't tried it. I am going to purchase an automated unit, but would save considerable money if the bluetooth/wifi integration is a bust. Does no one from Welch Allyn or Midmark read this forum? I would if I were them. Merry Christmas! Dave

We use Midmark EKG/PFT machines connected via USB to an Amazing Chart Client. We have been using it for the last 4 years with no glitch whatsoever.

Amazing Dave: I've done that as well! It's a real work-out. I'm comforted to hear others have shared in that experience. I too would like to look at the automated VS: do you mean the BP cuffs that self-inflate, or something more advanced?

aramiz Houston, TX The EKG gear is very consistent, the automated vitals machine is a new and different beast.

Dave I suspect that it will eventually get resolved, but I know from my conversation with Midmark techs, they support over 50 EMRs, so they weren't energized about getting this resolved.

Bump. Our Midmark IqEKG machine died this morning. We’ve had it for maybe 5ish years.
Looking for alternatives/replacement. Is Midmark still the only EKG compatible with AC?

I bought a couple of Midmark ECG machines on Ebay and they work fine. Sometimes they don't come with everything such as stand alone Midmark software. AC has been going through growing pains and there are a lot of issues with Midmarkk interface and V11 AC that are being worked out. I see that Midmark ECG is the only ECG interface. They have vitals interface with Welch Allyn.

We're still on v10 I think so crossing our fingers we don't have to upgrade and these machines keep working as is.
