I wanted to share some system notices from CMS. These would affect any users who are trying to submit for Meaningful Use.

*Stage 2 Flexibility - Certified eHR technology or CEHRT Flexibility Options - available mid October 2014
Allow Providers to: Use 2011 or 2014 Edition CEHRT or a combination, Attest in 2014 to either Stage 1 or 2 meaningful use measures, Report either 2013 or 2014 Clinical Quality measures (CQMs)

*Planned System Maintenance - The HITECH eHR Incentive program system will be unavailable due to planned system maintenance from October 4, 2014 at 7:00 AM ET to October 6, 2014 at 7:00 AM ET. Eligible Professionals and Eligible Hospitals will be unable to register or attest for the eHR Incentive Program during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

In short, the attestation system will be down from the 4th through the 6th. Also, if you plan to attest for stage 1 using Amazing Charts Version 6 (under the 2011 certification, then you will need to wait till mid-October before trying to attest.

Thanks

CMS system is now accepting 2011 CEHRT for Stage 1 2013 measures for those of us who were to be in Stage 2. (AC Version 6 Stage 1)

I used 300000184JEMEA2 (Version 6.3.3 for me). After you enter this, a statement appears at the bottom of the screen, you have to attest that you are using a Stage 1 version due to delays.

I am still confused in regards to MU stage 2 with older versions of Amazing Charts. I am currently using V6.3.3. I have successfully attested for stage I, part 1 and part 2. How do I go about attesting for Stage 2, as far as CMS goes? Has their website been modified to accept data utilizing AC data reports generated under version 6.3? I do not want to risk logging on and then having a glitch.

Doctor Mel,

If using Version 6, you will not be doing Stage 2. You will do Stage 1 again as allowed by the new CMS flexibility rules.

Donna,

Does one then run a three-month report, similar to part one of stage I? Or is it a whole year?

Because you have a 2014 certified version, you can use 2014 definitions for Stage 1 or 2.

Here is the decision tool:

Hi donna,
I looked at the CMS Flexibility Tool. I am still confused....I have successfully attested Stage 1 parts 1 &2. I am now using AC version 7.1x which I guess is the 2014 CEHRT version. Can I still choose to attest to Stage 1 again? Because stage 1 appears slightly easier...or do I HAVE to do stage 2 now that I have version 7 of AC?

Following the tool, if you have 2014 version and were scheduled to do Stage 2, you now have the flexibility to do either Stage 1 or Stage 2 using their 2014 definitions. Stage 1 2014 is not exactly the same as Stage 1 2013.

Here is a link to the CMS page with resources to explain 2014 Stage 1.

Thanks a lot Donna. I understand that Stage 1 2014 is different from Stage 1 2013....I expect that AC meaningful wizard takes that into account?

Dr AJ,

I am still using Version 6, so I don't know anything about Version 7 or its MU wizard.

So if we have the updox portal and can send pts their records on request via the portal does that mean we therefore meet the objective to "provide
patients the ability to view, download, or transmit their health information or hospital admission information online"?

Actually, right after I posted this I spoke c the guardian angels about a different issue and posed this question. Apparently the updox portal does meet the above objective.
