Do any of the New York doctors here admit at NYU. Apparently, NYU has some strict guidelines concerning EMR interoperability with their systems and I was wondering if AC was able to meet them. One doctor I know switched to eClinical Works, and another who hadn't yet selected one picked up something called CureMD (I'll google them later).

I'm just curious.

Our practice, as well as 10 others await the tie in to NYU's HIE. As of today NYU continues to require this tie in in order to continue membership in University Physician's Network. (After Sandy they stopped pushing very hard, and have repeatedly postponed the deadline) The latest update from AC (Aug 19) states that this connection will be up and running by September.

" The next update to the Amazing Charts program will be Version 6.6.
It is in the final stages of testing and is almost ready for a Beta release and will be available for general release in September. This release contains a large number of feature improvements, including changes for pediatric immunization CPT code usage, billing reports and billing export enhancements.
We will be supporting a regional New York HIE (NYU) with a lab and radiology interface and are deploying new interfaces for Vitals information for medical devices.
V 6.6 also includes updates for the Medications tables, the BMI calculator, growth charts and other decision support content. "
Hope this helps,
Marc

Thanks Marc. I was curious. Dr C admits at Beth Israel & St. Luke's/Roosevelt. Continuum Health Partners, an "alliance" (or something) of hospitals of which these hospitals are a part, will also be developing an HIE ( I think I saw that in a e-newsletter).

As has been noted in other threads, inter-connectivity between EHRs and labs and hospitals should be baked in but is not. With competing/conflicting agencies regulating every thing we do relating to patient care and the business of medicine, and the different private vendors wanting to protect their intellectual properties, we're stuck in the middle. Did you exceed you quota of sneezes and tissue use today?
sorry for the rant!
Marc

I rant&rave too. No problem. What is so bad is that there will be at least 3 HIEs in the NYC metro area alone. NYU's, CHP's (that's Continuum) and the current one that some of the public hospitals use. Betcha NYU's HIE won't talk to the one the public hospitals are using.

No takers until licensure requires the acceptance of all insurances
