Hello Everyone,
Unfortunately it appears Sure Scripts is having connectivity issues again. We are getting reports from every region. Amazing Charts would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
So far this is the only official word we have received:
RelayHealth is currently experiencing connectivity issues on PRODUCTION ePrescribing transactions outbound to Surescripts. All dedicated resources are currently working to resolve this issue. We will continue to provide updates and/or resolution as soon as possible.
I will post an update as soon I can.
Thank you, Craig @ AC

How many intermediates are there between my exam room and the pharmacy? This seems like lunacy. So many interconnections, to what end?
Med checking, especially, is pretty useless. I never pay any attention to the "interactions" -- they don't even sort out by age or sex, so reading through all of them is a time waster.
Does this stop by the NSA on the way to the drugstore?

We have identified an issue stemming from our DNS hosting service, Network Solutions. Network Solutions is currently encountering connectivity issues. This is resulting in some systems being unable to properly route to secure.newcropaccounts.com. Many systems will have this information cached, and will perform normally; others will have limited access. Network Solutions is actively working to restore service. We will provide an update with a timeline for full connectivity, and notification of restored service. Our apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks, The NewCrop Team

Hello Everyone,
This is the latest update from New Crop
Network Solutions has confirmed that most users have restored service. Few users may still encounter a connectivity issue. Network Solutions is actively working to establish full connectivity. We expect service to be fully restored this evening. Our apologies for the inconvenience. Thanks, The NewCrop Team
I apologize for not getting this information to you sooner. However this update came in after I had gone home for the evening. Full service is expected to be restored this morning.
Thank you, Craig @ AC

We are dead in the water right now, also. This is an extremely busy time of day, in the middle of the week. The future of EMR looks bleaker every day.

As has been noted elsewhere, I come from a different heritage that most of you medical folks, but when I was a wet-behind-the-ears Ensign I was taught something that still rings true.
In an operational environment, there is a point at which you relieve someone who can't stand the watch rather than endanger others; that is the responsibility of leaders. Second to that is that leaders accept accountability for the actions of those on their watch.
I was the OOD during the Rev watch [0400-0700] on a warship in the Pacific when I looked up from the chart and saw a *massive* container-ship coming out of the fog close aboard our starboard bow - I glanced to the JOOD who had the Conn, and the fool had his back to the bow and was chatting with the helmsman like it was cocktail hour.
I took the Conn, ordered an aggressive maneuver to get us out of harms way, and then had to explain to the Old Man why he got thrown around in his rack in the early morning.
The JOOD and I then went to a bridge wing where I secured the WTD and we had a heart-to-heart chat about my expectations if he ever stood watch with me again.
The point is this; operational systems are expected to operate - if their status looks like a traffic light, you loose the confidence of others, and you should be expected to be relieved and replaced.

Who are Newcrop, et al accountable to? Looks like we need a congressional investigation. We are all losing money with this. At least UPDOX took responsibility when their product was having problems and they are making efforts to improve things.

The free Allscripts prescribing program is still available to any physician in the US. I have used it for 8 years, and I can only recall one outage. When AC/Newcrop won't cooperate, I just use the Allscripts and continue through my day. Redundancy of systems is a good thing.

Hello everyone,
We have just received official word from NewCrop that they have found and addressed the issue and e-Prescribing should be back up and working.
Latest news from NewCrop:
NewCrop Partners, NewCrop is currently working with Sungard to increase our CPU processing to mitigate the screen timeouts. This will be a permanent change. We will continue to monitor delay times to confirm these changes have resolved the issue. Current monitoring shows there should be no more issues at this time. Thank You, The NewCrop Team
Amazing Charts would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused everyone and thank you for your patients.
