The reason you are getting no answers is that no one really knows. I posed this question to the guardian angels and even they could not really tell me. The answer is you want it as fast as you can get it. I spoke c Nick at AC who felt that 4 Mb/s down and 1 Mb/s up would probably be sufficient. I had half that. I just upgraded to fiberoptic and now have 18 down and 4.5 up which should be more than sufficient. I put those numbers in to give you an idea of what is out there at least in my area. You might check with some people like John Howland who are already using the cloud and get them to run a speed test. In fact, let's try that: HEY EVERYONE WHO IS USING THE CLOUD SUCCESSFULLY. COULD YOU PLEASE GO HERE http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ AND RUN A SPEED TEST AND REPORT BACK SO WE CAN SEE WHAT WORKS? THANKS.

Bill,

I just checked my notes and tech support at AC told me back a couple of months ago that they recommended at least 15mbps download speed. At the time I had a DSL connection that was only 2-3mbps. I then switched to cable and routinely have >15mbps and have had no problems running AC in the Cloud. In fact it runs faster than AC with my in-house system. Admittedly, I was using a system that would make Bert, Sandeep and others whence--a laptop for a server.

I use my iPhone for backup in case the cable connection goes down. I just tested the speed and I got 29mbps tethered to my iPhone.

John
