I believe this has been brought up before, but it's important enough to bring up again.

I would REALLY love, actually, really NEED a way to track various items - annual exams, A1c's, call backs for repeat PAP's etc. I know we have the tracked data section of the chart, and honestly, I have to remember to look there. I'd like something that is going to catch my attention when the chart is opened, or even something we can pull on a regular basis and see who is due for what. Some sort of "alarm" system, something that pops up - something independent of weather the chart is opened or not. It's the folks that you are not routinely seeing that can fall through the cracks.

I know I read something somewhere about using an excel spreadsheet for this (you can format it so the cell turns red), however, I would love to see something within AC so we don't have to have yet another document for people to keep track of.

In the meantime, what are YOU using to track such things?

Thanks,

Barbara

I agree completely. Fortunately, at this time my PM program has a reminder feature. My staff can enter in a reminder and it will pop up at the desired date and time as soon as they sign on. For instance, if Joe Schmo needs a repeat CT of the chest in 6 months, I have the ladies enter it to have it pop-up in 5 months and 2 weeks so we can get it scheduled for them. You can also bring up all the reminders in the system at once in order to review them. Very nice feature.
I also use the "sticky note" feature of AC to make reminder notes such as when a patient's next colonoscopy is due but this will not appear unless you opent their chart.

I also agree that reminders would be great without having to remember to open another chart. We use Outlook calendar and make appointments that are sent to the nurse that reminds her of upcoming repeat MRI studies, labs, etc. Everyperson in the office has been trained to open Outlook daily and keep in the background so that any reminders, emails, etc come up automatically.

Some of us just got an email that the newest release of AC is coming any day now with a "robust reminder" feature and other improvements. If you want Jon will probably be glad to let you beta the newest release, it helps him develop and de-bug it so it's a sort of mutual thing...Now where is the PM module and Hot Sync???? laugh
