Hi All,

I'm going to try to make sense of this question for everybody.

Maybe we are doing it wrong but we've noticed a couple of issues with E-prescribing:

1) If we include a Comment/Note To The Pharmacist... this seems to be getting SAVED to that particular med, and if we prescribe the same medication for another patient it pulls in the note from the other patient. In other words, it seems like these notes are NOT attached to a specific patient but to the medication? This is not very useful for us... unless we are using it wrong. Has anybody else noticed this?

2) Is there a better way to SAVE whether a patient needs to have the Brand Medication? I see that it gets saved on refills for a codified prescription. However, if the dose is changed or gets un-codified somehow (it happens by accident), then this information is lost. How do others keep track of whether a patient needs to have the brand?? If we put it in the notes to the pharmacist we have the issue described above where it gets pulled in for someone else who we are prescribing that med. for.

Hope that makes sense,

Sam

This is a glitch that I have noted as well and you (at present) need to erase the note to the pharmacist when you write the med again for another patient.....hopefully they will fix these glitches soon....I may come to DC to voice a few things and to learn alot more...todd
