As Dr. Cook's nurse I have a request for the physical exam (lb). It would be nice to have two spots for weights (lb) and (oz). We noticed if you put a weight of 10lb 15oz as 10.15 it converts to 10.2 when you reopen the chart. So, we break down the weight as 10.9 pounds to correct for the problem. However, when a mom wants to get her childs measurements we need to reconvert back to pounds and ounces.

As long as we all know that we are commiserating and aren't really expecting any of these ideas to actually happen. It is fun to dream though. Hard to get these really helpful suggestions into the product to improve patient care when we have:

CCHIT, MU, v7, etc. (not that these are AC's fault. Our issue isn't so much converting to pounds and oz, it's separating U.S. from the rest of the world. It is really difficult to work up FTT when the list of weights is lb, lb, kg, lb, kg. So, we use the table below included on the Bright Futures Form to convert to pounds and ounces, then write it on that form.

It would be nice if you could use 10.5 (that is what our scale shows), and it would auto-convert to 10 lbs, 8 oz. with 4.8 kg in another column.

Our friendly AC suport guy said :
hit the "more" button, use the slider for weight. This will add ounces and you can then type it in.

Anyone going to cloud hosting? For us it would be prohibitively expensive as e have about 20 employees all of whom access ac simultaneously.

Thanks so much for posting the answer! I had known about this back a couple of months ago, but it managed to leak out of my brain. Up until now, we'd been using math to convert fractions into decimals.

Btw, for those of you don't feel like looking for the "more" button, it is located right beneath the text that reads "Physical Exam."

Lois,
I don't do kids, so don't know much about the weight stuff, but am answering your question about cloud hosting, and I concur--too expensive.

Thanks for the slider tip. Unfortunately, I don't understand it. Does this mean that every baby starts at 17.6 lbs. Do you get the weight, then put that in? And what baby breaths at 29 bpm? It seems like it is the pediatric syndrome of kids just being little adults.

I don't think you need to get the conversion from the slider and then type it in. You can simply obtain all of your vital signs and click SAVE, and they will all be put in automatically.
