I guess my question is the only price freeze I know about is the one across the board by Richard Nixon.

I realize that if the government forced automobile companies to sell their Mercedes Benz E series at a lower cost, people do have a choice to go elsewhere, but why should the drug companies be under a difference set of rules. Maybe the answer lies somewhere in between where with drugs like insulin are absolutely necessary to sustain life as is Synthroid (which does have a generic), but people do I have a choice between Nexium and Prevacid.

But, in a way there are some controls over meds. Some insurance companies won't pay for certain drugs, Medicaid leading the way in Maine. We can't write for Metadate CD or Adderall XR or Ambien, etc. But, we can write for Tylenol, Motrin and Melatonin, oh and, of course, Nix.
