When a chart is in the inbox, an alert shows up, saying that. Sometimes, I just want to check one of the past notes and I press OK and the chart opens. But sometimes, I realize the mistake and press the close box 'X', and the chart still opens. I would suggest Yes and No buttons rather than just OK.

Zak, can you describe this in more detail. I am not quite following you. I may have had a similar situation, but I am not sure.

This is for Docs who forward the charts to their own inbox to finish later. It is to warn all others that the chart is in doc "A's" box and so the info you are viewing may be incomplete. The big issue is if that turns out to be your inbox, because you don't want to loose that note until you have finished and signed it, so you need to send it back to your box I believe if you were the original forwarding doc and have not yet finished that note, get it??? Hope this helps.

Gents, thank for your input. The purpose of the text box is not an issue. Clarification: Pt. is seen on Monday and chart is forwared to the inbox to complete later. On Tuesday I would like to finish the encounter and I try to pull the chart up from the schedule. Text box warns me that I have the chart in the inbox. Great. I realize the mistake. I do not want to start a new note. I want to go to the chart in the inbox. I click 'ok' or the 'X' to close box. Here is the issue: The chart still opens. There was no need to. Hence a 'Yes' button for times like: 'I just need to check the allergies'; and 'No' for 'Oops, thanks, I will go and finish the inbox note.'

Zak,
Yes, I agree Zak that it may make more sense to have a message come up which says basically the same thing, but says, "Blah, blah, blah...do you still want to continue. Clicking on OK or yes would open the blank chart or the one not in the in box, and clicking No or Xing out of it would do the same.
But, all the warning message is designed for is to let you know that the chart you just clicked on whether in the patient list or the schedule is going to open no matter what you do unless you crash the program with task manager or reboot. This would allow you to know the chart should not be used to chart on given the inherent redundant situation with the saved chart in your box.
While your way may be better, it would seem to me that it would only be a lot better if someone were new to AC. Because either you would know you had a chart in your inbox to finish in which case you would open it there or you wanted to just open the chart to view it, and you don't care that there is one in your inbox, so you just click OK, and move on to your chart. Makes sense to me.
