Sorry if this post is under another discussion heading, but I'm new to the user board (long time user of AC). I cannot send refills from the e-prescribing window. When I attempt to transmit the scrip to a pharmacy, a notification pops up stating "Cannot Transmit prescriptions because ... 'med name' Refills must be no more than 2 characters long, Refills must consist of digits only." Now, if anyone knows of a scrip that is only 2 characters long or consists of digits only, I'd like to see it. Anyone encountered this problem? If so, is there a fix? Until then, I'm relying on the old fashion phone in method. Thanks in advance!

What version of AC are you using?

Just as you say in your post, it is referring to the refills only.

What doesn't make sense is you must be writing at least one script with the allotted one to two number refills. But, you definitely cannot write, PRN or 100 or anything to that effect.

I'm running version 6.0.9 and the problem occurs whether the scrip is for a new med or a refill. I've found the problem exists when a scrip is initiated under the summary tab>meds>edit/refill section or when completing a chart. There are times when I have been able to get a scrip to electronically transmit. But so far, I haven't figured out why some do and others don't.

I wasn't referring to a medication that is a "refill."

I was referring to the number you put in the refill section of the prescription to tell the pharmacy how many times the patient can refill the prescription.

Generally it's 0, but 1-3 have been applied with the same results.

Just for fun, leave it blank, which will default to 0 "zero" on the script.

Figured it out. The problem is with the refill quantity. AC default is "none," but it won't send unless this is left blank or a number is stated. Hope this helps anyone else with a similar problem.
