No need to be sorry. I apologize if you misunderstood. This is what happens when threads get hijacked and turn into Adobe rather than the Brother.
The problem is not so much that the software won't run on 2008, but that it won't even use the server for a path if I am reading all this correctly.
It seems that 64-bit OS have a Program Files for 64-bit and x86 programs.
This is for Vista 64-bit, but it probably applies.

But, trying to run it in XP compatibility mode isn't a bad idea. But, my guess is it won't even install.
