Leslie:
I was planning on bringing my wife and son. 24th through 28th. Cindy got on line before I did, did the math, from dsm to Providence es muy caro $$$. She then added up the cost of the hotel, food, ????shopping???? (at a conference?) and said it was too expensive for a non vacation! Non Vacation! When I reminded her about the blast that was had by all at the last conference, she reminded me that I had a blast at the conference, while she an Aaron sort of found their way around Branson....looking like a single mom with her son! Sooo, I don't think they'll be coming. They don't think our family mission trips are vacation either. After 33 years, you think you'd know a person!

Wow, I would say at least 75% of my patients have single moms. I didn't think there was anything else. Tom, Just promise her that if she goes this year, you will take her to next year's ACUC at Dr. Clayton's home town. I can't even imagine waking up to this everyday. What patient would even come to the doctor's office rather than walk on this beach! http://www.redhookfamilypractice.com/ To quash any rumors, I don't think the conference will be in the U.S. Virgin Islands, but one can dream.

Dr Clayton's website looks very much like the view I get looking out my bedroom window, which overlooks Summit lake, Creston, Iowa. Wait...where are my glasses?

Why not have a traveling ACUC by bike thru Iowa next year? You easterners could get some real Midwest hospitality.

Dear Lord!! You all would not want to see me in biking clothes, my spandex covered fat arse hanging over the seat! I'm with Bert. Dr. Clayton's place looks terrific.

Once again, I agree with Leslie. I don't want to see her on a bike, lol. J/K.
Dr. Clayton, do you ever have to prescribe Paxis for stress or anxiety? How could anyone be anxious or stressed there?
Now, the Midwest is the home for The Midwest Center For Stress and Anxiety, so...

Leslie: LOL!!
Bert: I forgot there was a conference after the first one that I missed. I was one of the few, the confused, but strong group at the first conference. Although I sat in the back with Dr. Carr and just watched. Funny thing, we both signed up to help on the PM portion and never heard from AC. *sniff* I get to come solo this time and NOT be the single mom that I am. Buwahaha! Vacation! eh... nevermind, too much mental involvement for a true vacation.

Are they planning on recording the conference and making the presentations available to those of us who are not able to attend?

I want SO badly to go to the conference. Is it full up yet? However, living in Alaska! I wish it was more central. Can the next one be in Seattle? Albuquerque, Denver? It would be fun to see a push-pin type map of where all the users are from. You can do this on a lot of BBS sites like this one, but that is just for the board registered users. But I digress... I would love to see it filmed and posted to YouTube or some other venue. thanks!

Boondoc, No, it's not full. You can still register. And, there is someone coming from Alaska, so maybe you could travel together? I have uploaded a map of the location of users. It's not quite at the resolution of push pins, but it gives the general idea. http://tinyurl.com/acuc-map

Are Jon and possibly Bert going to comment or give us some inside info about the PM system that I hope is in development? I would love to find out some info about this since I have been holding off for almost a year purchase of another PM system!

Hello from WV. Just wondering if the conference is going to be taped and if so will they be available to bring home or mail? I believe all of our staff would benefit from all the good information. Also I have four tickets and if the conference will be taped and available I would give up two to someone else. Thanks Jana

Jon is arranging to have the entire event filmed.
DocMartin and I will have our session produced as a finished piece with slides/video to make the content more cogent.
I'll also be grabbing video of the goings-on to have a 20-30 minute mash-up of the overall event, for both those who can and can't attend the event.

So the filming will be available for sale to be enjoyed by entire staffs? That is great. Thanks for your help and good to meet you....so probably only two of us will come if anyone wants extra tickets. That will save airfare and rooms. Do please comfirm all of the lectures will be available. Really looking forward to this. And by the way I am a D.O. so is CME available? I would think so. Jana

Addendum from above post....I also have an extra room to go along with those tickets and the ones left behind will just have to wait till the movie comes out!

Jon will determine the availability of the filming of the ACUC he is putting together.
DocMartin is nearly in Hollywood, so I look forward to seeing how our session turns out as a DO "indie film". Should be fun.
For those in attendance, there will be CME available thanks to the fine work of Jim Blaine and the other practitioners that spent the time to organize the conference and apply for the CME credit.

Hi Jana,
Bert asked me to attempt to answer your question. Here is the CME verbage that we received from the AAFP:
This activity, Amazing Charts User Conference 2010, with a beginning date of June 25, 2010, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 19 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
I suspect that this will count toward your annual state requirements for CME, but it would be a good idea to check with your state's officials.
Best,
Jim

Hi Jana, the CME is from AAFP so you can only use them as Category II for the AOA. (also a D.O.)
On a clear day you can see the Hollywood sign out my window. That is a close as I get to Hollywood and I believe I hold the distinction of being the absolute LAST person to give a lecture at Western using chalk! (I actually made students on a Saturday walk up the street to a lecture hall that had not been torn down yet so we could use a chalk board.)

I'm arriving for the user conference late on Thursday Jun 24 at 10:45pm on Southwest 363 so it looks like I might miss the last 11pm hourly airport/downtown shuttle to the Westin hotel. Anybody want to share a taxi ride ($27 + tip)? Is so send me a message. Thanks.

Anyone have an extra room reserved for ACUC that they will don't need? I would like a second one, and they have rooms, BUT...only for $239 ($215 AAA). This is the SAME room we are already getting for $120, but "the date for that has passed". So if anyone reserved a room at the $120 rate that they will not be using, I would love to have it...

I'm getting in at 3:42. Are you all renting cars or taking the shuttle?
