If there is a NextGen users forum I never found it when I was trying to be a happy next gen user. Now I am a very happy AC user and I bet that an in-person users conference would be a huge eye opener.... find out how others do their work flow, how to do all sorts of things that would make life easier. I hope the ACUC actually happens and soon, with this new version I think it would be tremendously valuable. When in June? Providence?

I'd love the chance to attend an ACUC. Will it be meant for docs only or can us IT geeks come too? smile

Providence in June sounds fine to me. Close enough to the Cape to tack on a few extra days for vacation.

Not all of the folks at the first ACUC were providers. I would be sure IT geeks would be more than welcome.

WARNING: we will likely pick your brains for ideas more than we get going to a party when someone finds out your are a doctor. But I think you will have a good time.

Wendell - I'm perfectly fine with brain picking. It makes me happy to realize I didn't fry all my brain cells in college. Bert - no idea. I'm actually more of a software IT geek. Can I get a second chance question? smile

Then in that case, you are welcome, that is unless Bert won't allow it since you didn't answer his question wink

Hey Guys and Dolls (loved the musical....I'm not a chauvinistic pigs; promise).

It doesn't seem that firm dates (or even a place have been chosen yet) but would like to throw out the fact that RI works for me. I have a Headache Conference in LA June 24-27 that I'd like to attend.

Would there be any interest in the weekend before?

I know people have issues with the weekend after and probably once we hit July there will be all sorts of commitments elsewhere for the summer so I agree that June is the best month to plan this.

I recently spoke to an AC user who described the Branson meeting as "about the most useful medical conference I have ever attended". June is fast approaching....anyone have an update?

ACUC 2010 is a go, so SAVE THE DATES: 6/25/10 - 6/27/10

Amazing Charts Users' Conference (ACUC) will be held Friday, June 25 through mid-day Sunday, June 27 in Rhode Island. As we are still negotiating rates with a few hotels, we've not yet decided on the exact venue, although it will most likely be in either Providence or Newport.

T.F. Green Airport (PVD) is the correct choice for those flying in.

We'll update this information here, as well as on our Facebook page in the next month or so.

Been a while since I checked this topic. Sounds great! I was born in CT, but can't remember how to get to RI. The first ACUC was great. The hotel staff had to ask us to clear out of the meeting room because they needed it for an evening function! I remember that no one wanted to take a break. The face to face time was great. Having User's explain how they implimented the AC into their offices was great. (hint Leslie could repeat her recent response to a solo practice surgeon about office flow and her use of scanning and fax software) Bert could just print out the "best of Berts" posts....about 3800 of them! Adam could come back with"see I told you to back up your data! Jon could speak on how fulfilling all his work on CCHIT cerification was now that the gov't is putting that on hold! Martin could show pictures of this years motorcycle ride and where documentation is headed. We could have some IT guy come and tell us just how expensive a system we could have installed into our offices and lastly, well, I don't think we could fill Brians spot. Seriously, the first ACUC was great.

Any other news yet on the plans for the ACUC? It would be helpful to know what time on Friday it is starting so we can decide our travel plans/office schedules.

We are still finalizing rates at the hotel, but we are a go for the Westin in Providence. The plan is to start officially Friday June 25th at 8 AM, and I'd encourage those traveling in to arrive Thursday pm.

Here is the rough schedule:

Friday 6/25/10 8am - 5pm
Saturday 8am -5pm
Sunday 8am - 1pm

Is the conference planned through Saturday or Sunday....?
I plan to spend the whole weekend regardless. I love the New England coast and wish I didn't have to be back at work on Monday!.

Is there an official conference schedule and would you recommend a PM coming or the Dr. or both? I am interested in finding out as much as I can as we are new to AC and still in the "figuring it out" stage? I would love to bring back as much as possible from something like this.

I tried the link for AC discount and no rooms were available. I wound up having to go for the standard rate package.

The AC discount only works if you sign up for Thursday night through Sunday (then it will give you the rate). ...

Yes, Bert. I can always count on you and Wendell. I am not yet sure I will be able to make it so do not count on me for a formal talk. But, I will either buy you a bottle of wine when I see you or make sure someone there does so for me!! That was Strawberry Hill that you like so well, wasn't it?

Bert,
thanks for the link to the hotel discount. Made reservations ($120 / night plus tax) and hope to be able to attend if I have enough $ to afford air fare after this 21% paycut from medicare :-)

The House & Senate voted a few hours ago to delay the 22% cut until June 1st. Sound familiar? They've been jerking us around every few months for the past year. I'm for sending them all a message this November, both sides of the aisle.

I've read where congress will just keep applying 2-3 month bandaid patches to the medicare SGR until Nov 2010 (after elections) to hopefully let the next congress deal with the funding for the SGR fix!

I'm sure we could fix the SGR in one of our Amazing Charts User Group's political breakout sessions. Maybe a tax on high end EMRs? :-)

I heard something similar except it was more like by the time they finally deal with SGR, we will be so happy they didn't cut it, that we won't care it wasn't increased.

I better be careful. Don't want to violate antitrust.
