As promised, Darryl has provided us with a beta version of MIaDoc -- a VERY powerful and user friendly desktop utility to complement AC4 quite nicely. It allows review of labs as they come in, the ability to mark them up and comment, sign off as well as file them in the patients folder as well as send a copy with comments directly to the paitent via email or fax. In addition, it has a host of other very powerful useful features that seamlessly integrate into AC4.

This is a free beta version for the AC community and Jon to try. It integrates quite nicely w AC4. IF, as a community, we find this product of significant value we should let Jon and Darryl know so they can discuss how and whether to make this an integral component of AC or as a non-beta inexpensive 'add-on'. Darrly has obviously spent quite a bit of time on this so please try and evaluate and provide feedback to both Darryl and Jon. As previously stated, I have no financial, or personal interest in either MIaDOC, Sports Development, AC, Darryl Strickland, UpDox, Apractic, etc ad nauseum BUT am quite impressed with this product. Download site: www.miadoc.comDownload utility AND user manual (work in progress). Best regards, James P. Clayton, M.D. US Virgin Islands

After downloading and evaluating PLEASE post reviews, questions and concerns here so that Darryl can get feedback on his program.

I heard about MiaDoc at the Ideal Micropractices conference. But it seems to be offline - no connection for the last 2 weeks. Does anyone know what's up?

No never a good sign. And, entering the term Miadoc in Google gives only one hit at the sixth position and that is for this thread.

Hope I'm not double posting- hit enter inadvertantly. MIaDoC website is back up. Looks BETTER than the old UpDox in my opinion- I did not find UpDox intuitive. I have not yet upgraded to AC 4 but will do so soon and then trial MIaDoC. I am happy with my paperport and brother MFC and can function well but if I can even improve how quickly I process "paper" a little, it will be worth it. I am now fully solo with no staff and loving it.
I would encourage Jon to keep the door open on MIaDoc as I think there will definitely be a market for it. I have absolutely no ties in anyway to the company!

Frank, I have perused MiaDOC and don't have it all down yet. It seems promising, although I don't think it can help me given my setup. UpDox on the other hand, is a program designed to integrate a lot of things such as email and your AC faxes, etc. You can mark faxes and then drag and drop them directly into AC. While it sounds too good to be true, many who have used it, liked it for awhile but then left it for a number of reasons. If you want to know ALL there is to know about UpDox and OneBox, you would want to talk with Andy Barbash who is high up and even the author, I believe, of one. He is a super nice guy -- even visited Adam and me at Adam's office. Go to his website at www.ajbmd.com, and you will find more than 50 ways to contact him including his cell phone. I believe you may even get a trial version from both UpDox and AC as far as a connection. I should recommend that you have a couple of shots of Starbucks as Andrew is an extremely intelligent person with tons of energy.

I was a faithful user and believer in updox- and agree andy and darryl are great. If we could incorporate miadoc into ac- it would be great- it is a helpful document manager and when used with onebox is good for patient communication/email. However, I tested miadoc and the new myupdox which is now run by a new group but had andy's input- it was a bumpy ride to get to where they are and they still have some kinks to work out but for now I think the new webbased myupdox site works better than miadoc from a speed perspective- which is the most important thing for me. That being said getting MIADOC improved to help with speed issues (not major things) and integrating it into ac- may change my perspective. thanks tim
