Hi Alexis,
Congrats! I have been solo for over 2 years now and also started with AC. We use the message system for phone calls and refills. It helps if you can train people early on to put a subject in the message field labeled subject. It automatically puts the pt name but if you ever need to look back to see when that med was changed or when they called about that problem, you will searching thru a ton of messages if they aren't labeled well in the subject heading.
I don't use addendum much, mostly just if I documented something on the wrong date or made some other error that I can't go back and correct.
We are now using a lab interface with our local lab. So far so good over the past month. I usually "import" the labs to the main computer 1-2x/day(from the main screen while on the main computer). I get a message in my inbox that there is a lab for pt john doe and if you double click it, it opens the lab screen. You can also access their labs from the imported items section. My only c/o is that while looking at a lab result, you can't simultaneously open an imported item(like their previous labs that we had scanned in before the interface). So comparing old and new labs takes a while, but should be much simpler once we build up the database.
Does that help?
