Our server went down last week and of course everything came to a halt. Plan B was to use one of the workstations as the "main" computer. I figured I could probably migrate everything over myself but decided it best if I got Guardian Angel support involved. I pinged them online and also received a phone call. Michael at AC was very helpful and offered to do the whole transfer remotely.
When it comes to backups, I'm a little over cautious. I have it backed up to the Server, also to a Hard Drive docking station that I swap out every morning and another PC on the network. Had I not had done that and only backed up to the server, we would have been out of luck.
That being said, do you have more than one copy of your backup somewhere other than on the server? If you don't, you should definitely consider it.
