Hi Ruthlyn,

Welcome to AC and the ACUB. Sorry that your first post is about a problem. AC really tries. They have won so many awards, and I think if the government had just stayed out of the EMR business, they would be so much better. They finally get past Meaningless Use, and ICD-10 follows. I read a report the other day in a reputable medical journal, that doctors are asking for a two-year reprieve for ICD-10. Crazy. Anyway, my answer below.

I have never used 8.2.3 or 8.2.4 in production. I can't reproduce those issues. As always, you are probably better off using the chat feature than email or voicemail. From everything I have ever read on here, I am not sure why the telephone number is even there. You can talk to someone on chat and then have them call you after.

By the way, a couple of things. When you say remote computer, do you mean a client. A computer that is connected to the "main computer?" If so, then it doesn't seem like the issue is that big of a deal. Unless you are using the main computer for production purposes. People may disagree with me, but if you aren't using a client/server setup, I think trying to keep every computer the same is helpful. You just introduce one more variable using 8.1. It shouldn't cause a problem, but, once again, it may not be AC, it may be something to do with AC and 8.1.

I can't say enough how bad of an idea it is to use the main computer as a live computer for work. It is helpful if you have a "main computer" tuck it away somewhere and uses it like you would a server. There used to be a lot of talk about the advantages of P2P and Client/Server on the board. Both work. I think with the issues of 8.2's speed, more people are moving toward servers with faster processors, etc. I suppose if you use P2P, then at least use it similarly to a client/server. Just my two cents.
