A shout out to Lisa, Jimmie's charming wife on this rainy northwest Washington day as I cradle what has now officially become my favorite coffee mug; no small achievement as it has supplanted my handmade pottery mug made by my friend Reagan Yoder from 1982 which has been retired to emeritus status in a protected corner of my kitchen cabinet. Lisa's creation fits my hand perfectly, never dribbles coffee on my white coat, and provides a steady supply of hot patience through the perils of helicoptering parents, invisible rashes and Google-induced paranoias. It's subtle earth tones mute the emblazoned etching that I am indeed "Amazing Dave", if only in my own mind and in the quiet recess of my own office-domain.
