I just want to add...I did the upgrade from v6.3.3 to v6.6.5 this weekend. Win 7 SP1 is the OS on the server. None of the clients would connect. I would have called support, but it is the weekend. I found Carl's post and that fixed the problem. Manually adding the permissions and adding "everyone" to the share of the 6 files fixed my problem. I also had to add SQL Server 2012 to the inbound firewall rules. Thank you for the posts.
