Is AC CCHITT? Aaahh, No, but..so on and so forth. People just think that if it goes for a price of an old used Dodge Dart, then it must be the quality of an old used Dodge Dart (now I love a good old used Dodge Dart, but that's another matter. Just ask Click & Clack the Tappet Brothers). Some folks just can't make that leap and connection, that cheap can be just as or almost as good, perhaps even better. It is the designer Jeans, name and logo mentality.
And ask Al. It is all that garbage that all the Medical Societies should be sued for, just up-chucking back up the same old CCHITT certified lies that just don't actually hold any water. "Oh it's expensive and CCHITT certified so it must be good and safe." What BullCCHITT for heaven's sake.
A few years ago now as EMR's were getting crazy and everyone was just standing there on the side lines with barely a toe in the water feeling the temp, I believe it was AAFP or Medical Economics that had an article about just buying one of the cheaper EMR's on the market while waiting for the market to shake itself out. AC was one of about 3 EMR's reviewed well in the article along with SoapWare and one other I believe. That is when we started tinkering with and eventually got into AC ourselves. I believe Jon has a link to a copy of this article still on the AC website. To some extent it is just a relevent today as it was two and a half years ago or more, perhaps even more.
Do I want the newest version of the Grand Cherokee to replace my old first generation ZJ, 5.2 Magnum, heck no. The new one is not nearly as well designed in terms of real off-road capability. It may be a hair safer in an accident because of ever increasing safety standards, but even that is questionable. That first one is built real well, flew thru its crash tests better than an mid-size of it's day. And it was built with a suspension that is really flexible for true off-roading all while having a skid pad rating that matches the BMW's of it's day for great on road handling, now there is some serious engineering. But do most people bother to look that hard and understand???? NO....
So yes give me a clean used version of my old ZJ to replace my rust belt victim that is still running strong but starting to rust. Give me a great old Dodge Dart, give me an old pair of plastice two peice Micron Quadra-Flex Hockey Skates. In the car hobby we call things that have never been used, but have been sitting on the shevles for a long time, NOS, for New Old Stock. We just love finding original un-used parts in a box or at a swap meet. We are NOS lovers here. So give me copy of 3.6 AC, thank-you very much. Newer is not always better.
