Hi everyone,

We have been using PaperPort instead of AC Imported Items for scanning documents. Why? Way way back in AC v2, we were having lots of problems with Imported Items, and we were not sure of the long term viability of AC. So everything that we imported was through PaperPort. We were using PP pro v 11, on a Win XP Pro PC.

Things were going well until several months ago. PP was locking up, so rather than try to fix an old program on an old PC, we got a new Win 7 Pro PC and PaperPort 14. (PP 11 was 32 bit only.)

And nothing went right since then. I took a walk on the wild side and tried Win 8, I did not like that at all. I am old and conservative and want a "Start" button. On Win 7,PP 14 has been problematic, slower than v11. Our scanner, an Epson GT-S50, does not seem to like its new 64 bit driver. I installed XP Mode and reinstalled PaperPort 11 in this, and it crashes frequently. Aaaaaarrrrrrgh!

Reviews of PaperPort show numerous users with similar problems, it seems that each newer version has more reports of problems. So it is not just us.

Two questions:

1. Is anyone successfully using PaperPort? Which version?

2. Is anyone else using anything else (beside AC Imported Items) to scan and save documents?
