I had to dig the old map out but can't recall exactly where the tunnel was located, and I usually call my dad on saturdays and he has a memory like an elephant, so he may remember--so I'll have to let you know later about which tunnel I was thinking of.
But thank you for the great info--I did rotations at York Pa and Pittsburgh as a 4th year med student and that was the last time i was on the Pa turnpike, but my thought at the time was people really pay money to drive on this bumpy poorly maintained road--its probably a lot better now.
