Lake Superior State University released its 2012 List of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Misuse, Overuse and General Uselessness. A few examples were "man cave," "thank you in advance," and "occupy," and "viral." Not sure if the last one was supposed to be "gone viral."
However, the number one banished word receiving over 1500 nominations, was none other than "Amazing."
Now, how are physicians going to get through the day without saying viral and amazing?
I remember last year the phrase, "At the end of the day," was pretty far up there. Now, when I hear it, I cringe.
2012's words are here.
