AC doesn't automatically install 2005 Express, and I recently saw a white paper walking through the steps of upgrading from 2005 Express moving the instance to 2008.
When you say, "they" will move...who is they? Whether it is AC or the practice, 2005 Standard isn't nearly as cheap as 2008 Express.
