it's not just reporting -which has a special V code- but it has to be a QUALIFIED e prescribe program which V 5.029 is NOT because of requirements stated in original post. U can get around it if u can prove certain conditions- No pharmacies in ure area are online, no or only dailup internet access and a couple of other ones. My info is that u need 11 scripts sent via qualified e prescribe by 6/30 or u get dinged. According to recent AAFP website CMS has proposed an exception if u are already signed up or will sign up for "meaningful use" which V5 isn't qualified for but V6 will be. However meaningful use entails a snakepit of reporting parameters (at least 15 that I know of at last publication of what meaningful use is) that have to be done and sent to Medicare at some point in time. Of course if u take the carrot u get get money from the Feds. I know of docs that are signing up for trial use of qualified e prescribe programs run the 11 scripts and then cancel the program. Maybe that's the way to go. I have the link to what is "qualified" e presribe if u want it I got it off the AAFP website
