I am only familiar with Hamachi, which works excellently for me.

Is it set up correctly? Once Hamachi is set up, all the office computers should appear in the "Network" window on your home computer, as long as the "gateway" computer on the office network is on and connected to the internet. So you can do anything that you can do as if that home computer is physically on the office network.

Here are the install steps I did:
1. Create an account on LogMeIn.com, if you don't have one.
2. Sign into your online LogMeIn account on your outside computer and also your gateway computer at the office, download and install the free version of Hamachi on each.
3. On your office network gateway computer, use Hamachi to setup a new network. Choose "gateway" as the network type. The computer setting up the new network is automatically a member, but you also have to designate it as the "gateway".
4. On your home computer open Hamachi and type in the network name that you created and you should see your home computer name added to the network. The office computers should begin to appear on your Network window at home in a minute or so.
5. Use Amazing Utilities on your home computer to reset the paths and connect to your main computer database in the office.
