Hi,
I am just now reviewing version5.0 (beta) of AC in hope of using it in my solo practice in a satelite office at home (no staff). There is a pull down menu when you first install AC asking for your specialty. The closest for me would be "alternative". I practice mostly osteopathic manipulation and alternative therapeutics, mostly homeopathic. I am licensed as both in CT. Despite this menu choice of specialty I don't see any indication that AC is a goodmatch for an alternative physician. Two things I can see off the bat that I would change:

The chart uses templates for each section - HPI, ROS, FH, etc. So each section of the chart should be in its own light pastel color. The corresponding templates for that section of the chart should be the same color so you can quickly find the template you want from your list of many templates.

There is a list of medications. It doesn't have any homeopathic drugs even though they have been regulated by the FDA since 1938! - but that's another story. Anyway, you don't have a separate template for each medication, you have a medication list you can call up. So, if I use mostly osteopathic treatments as my main treatment, why can't I create a list of treatments -just like there is a list of drugs? The osteopathic treatments are my "drugs", yet I have to create a template for each "drug"that I use! There should be a way to create a master "treatment" list that I can pull from.

I understand that AC emulates the way most FPs work, however, if it is to be presented to a market that includes professionals on that pull-down list of specialties it must be flexibile. I would also like to see a master template for osteopathic diagnoses, by spinal segment and cranial and coccygeal sections as well. Then I could call up that master template and highlight my findings (which change from patient to patient). So there should be a way to create these master templates, call them up and then click and paste only the needed parts from the list. This would work for physican acupuncturists as well if they could have a master template that contained all the meridians and acupuncture points.

I haven't found a work-around for the drug list yet but I would really like to see the ability to make a treatment list.
