I'm moving my 824 ac installation to a better server. I backed up AC from the old server without errors, installed AC on the new server, and went thru the motions of setting up a brand new clinic on the new server.

But when I try to restore the database, I keep getting a restore error (below). When I check it with Amazing utilities, everything seems to check out ok, and I'm also able to logon normally. Not sure if this is safe to use, or if a wheel will fall off a few weeks from now. Thanks!

As long as the database restores completely, you should be okay. It's a bug in the restore process. If you run the same restore twice, it will say it was successfully completed the second time despite nothing changing.

I still get the same error when I run it twice-not sure if there's issue with the db. But I see no errors on AC utilities or running the program.

Ok here's answer for anyone in same boat-

1. need to have all 3 AC services turned off before restoration (you can find in "services" panel when u hit ctrl+shift+esc

2. ac restore will still throw an error whenever imported items are involved-to check for integrity, compare the sizes of importeditems folder and amazingcharts.mdf and make sure they're the same

also, support likes 830 version-will be trying that soon

Thank you, jrav
You saved me considerable time trying to figure out why our v8.3.0 refused to restore correctly! In our case, simply restarting the computer and running Restore before running Amazing Charts (and its background processes) solved the problem.
