I know this is a longshot, but I am trying to support a client who has a super old version of AC, v6.3.3. I have everything working on the server running windows 7 and mostly windows 10 clients but recently the clinic has purchased 2 different HP laptops. While I can get the software installed and it launches and gets to the login screen. Once I type in the password for the user I get a "preloading data for speed. wait a moment" message and then it freezes. Strangely it works fine on at least one other HP windows 11 laptop and all windows 7 thru 10 desktops. I have tried via Wi-Fi and ethernet with no luck. Anyone know why this happens? Yes, I know they are working on re-subscribing and getting support assistance and getting on a newer version. It's a long story on why they are still on this ancient version but here we are..

If anyone can offer any advice I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried compatibility modes and making sure security tools were disabled and UAC. Like I said it does work on at least one other similar laptop with the absolute latest of all windows driver and the same security tools installed and active.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joel,

Since one HP laptop runs AC 6.3.3 in Windows 11, could there be a BIOS setting that's different on your two new freezing HP W11 laptops?

Cheers,

Joel,
I don't have an answer to your query, but two experts have chimed in on that.

Your client is not the only one running 6.3.3. It works just fine for a small practice with simple charting needs like mine. And, the beauty of it is that one doesn't need to involve AC at all to move to or credential new machines. We moved to new Windows 10 machines last year without any problem. Couple 6.3.3 with an inexpensive, free standing ERx program and I am all set. So, depending on your client's needs, they may not have to change versions, hassle with AC, or pay for an annual plan.

And, Carl, hello! Hope you have made a good recovery from your accident.

And, James, I hope you have remained accident free!
