A few of us have volunteered to steer the topics selection and give talks at the 1st National AC Conference.
Would users please post any suggestions for discussion topics?
thus far; we have a keynote address by Dr. Bertman, and a discussion on backups planned.
10 hours total, 2 used up, 8 more need filling up...

Leslie Hospital Employed Physician Who Misses The Old AC
"It's a good thing for a doctor to have prematurely grey hair and itching piles. It makes him appear to know more than he does and gives him an expression of concern which the patient interprets as being on his behalf. "

Al, Would you be willing to do such for us? Now Al is not an actual AC user himself, he has his own niffy little program he uses instead if I'm not mistaken. He just haunts our board from time to time as a place to hide and find support from the EMR Update guys and to share thoughts with like minded souls. Perhaps we could have him present ala tele or web conference to save him a lot of travel and scheduling problems? Otherwise I get the feeling it would be difficult at best to have him join us. But I would really love to have Al around for the Q & A afterwards that I hope will be produced by such a hot topic. I would think that any good conference center would have the support for such a thing. Then it is just a matter of having similar on Al's end. Al???

Paul:
You will be glad to hear that I have been in contact with Al already this morning, and he indicated that he would be excited to speak to us, should the stars align properly.
I have gotten some good suggestions via email and PM. As I said to some others via email this morning, this conference could end up from a couple of dozen attendees up to a couple of hundred.
Discussion topics which could be extremely appropriate for a small gathering might be completely inappropriate for a large gathering, and the conference is a long way off.
Right now, we are taking names and gathering ideas, but we're not going to commit to too much until we have a better idea of the size and composition of the gathering.
In other words, the sky's the limit! Keep sending in ideas!

Suggested Topics, 1) Getting Rid of All that Paper: Scanning and e-filing technics, formats, products: Hardware and Software. Can we finally capture digital signatures so all office forms can finally be digitized? How?
2) Rocket Romano Charting Tips: Bring Your Templates and other neat tricks.
3) The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Hardware and Software that does or does not work with or around AC to make your Practice Flow Better or Worse. Bert's File Program and VIPER (V-10???, Sorry lol), Scanners, Web Design and Hosts(Wayne?), PM modules, Web Sites, Internet Security Packages, Office Suites.
4) Features and Interfaces: What's New and Even the Old and How did AC Envision Us All Using Them in the First Place? In the Future: What's Doable and What's Just Not Realistic. The Inner Workings of Creating the Program. Post Presentation Jam Session: How are We all Actually Using and Not Using Them? Are We Just Not Getting What it Takes to Build Such an Animal? Jon and Team, Bert and Vinny on Dais? Good Cabernet Suggested to Assist with Brain Storming. Last Topic of the Day?
Perhaps 1 and 3 are sort of combined, but I think you can all see where I'm going with all of this. Bert seems to have really conquered a lot of this and now he seems to have Adam well on his way as well. Meanwhile Vinny I think is actually still very intentionally half paper. What does super tech know that we don't know? Suggestion to All. Bring your pocket drives to swap stuff that is leagally swappable.
We are all sort of covered entities yes? Would it be OK and practical to bring a recent copy of all our practices to load on a conference machine so we can actually show and see how others are doing (good and bad) what they're doing??? Or perhaps we could all bring at least one laptop with a recent copy of our data, our practice so show and share such ideas, templates, concepts, good and bad charting and coding so we can all sort of feed off one another? At a conference of users would we be covered if such a session was kept only to providers and higher level staff, Nurse, PA's, PM's and the like???
Brian, I just saw your post and I understand. I'm posting most of mine here so the greater gang can have at it like Leslie did. I'm really glad to hear the Al might be able to pitch in. I really hope we can make it because I really have wanted to meet so many of you in person already. I think that's it for right now.

Brian and Committee; Could you guys post most of the suggestions here so we can have at them? Or better yet, like I'm doing even if folks are going to PM the committee, why don't you please post them here in this Topics thread as well. That way we can see what topics seem to hit a nerve or have lots of interest. Thanks

Congratulations, Joseph! That is a very nice picture, but I must say that you look a lot different than I had imagined!
