Yesterday we had a chart auditor in the office. She was pretty nervous because she'd never been to an office that uses an EMR (!)
Her company allotted her three days to audit 88 charts. She came into our office at 7:30 and I got her logged in on one of our laptops (we have a user named CHART AUDITOR) and sat beside her while I walked her through the steps with our test patient. She followed my suggestions to rename each file, which was printed to pdf on her encrypted hard drive.
After that, I watched her do the next two. I told her to holler if she needed help, which she didn't.
She was finished by 1:00 and was super impressed with how professional our records are.
