If you did not get the e-mail, check for 6.1.1 beta, said to address our most urgent speed and other issues.

Where is this download? Only 6.10 seems to be still available.

Today we received an email from Claire Rich at AC, with links to v611beta and DatabaseTunerv611beta.

Normally I am pretty slow to try these, but it would be really nice to get some speed back.... I am downloading the 611beta as I type, not sure if I will get up the courage to install tonight...

Just installed 6.1.1 on main computer and 1 desktop- first impression "AC is back!!!!!" Seems much faster for rxs. I'm waiting for it to install on an older wireless laptop, that will be the real test.

Hi Steven,

Can't really comment on this, it had not been a problem for us.

But I can say Rxing is fixed!!!! Even an old slow laptop, wireless, is back to v5 speed.

Thank you Claire and AC staff!!!

It dramatically improved the slow imported items on Leslie's db in Tahoe.

That sounds like a wise move, unless you want the pitchfork and torches treatment!

I'm not making this up, really I'm not.

On v6.1.1, I took one of the older wireless laptops that now seemed great with rxing, and turned hardware acceleration fully on.

Rxing from the "Write scripts" box on right is still very fast. BUT opening the "Current medications" box on the left brings agonizingly slow line by line screen painting, and the final product looks funny, without lines between the medications. In other words, that box is now acting like the "Write scripts" did in 6.0.9.

Turned hardware acceleration fully off again, all is fast.

Moral of the story:

Leave hardware acceleration off.

Well, I didn't want to comment, but now that the worms are out of the can:

TSP works, but now you can't print to a regular printer. So, pick your poison on that one. I guess with ePrescribe and fax, you don't need to, but I still like printing to paper for those with private insurance.

Believe it or not, I am going to upgrade this afternoon. Cross your fingers. And, if I hate it, I am not giving the red Porsche back!!

Darn it Bert! Now I have the concern of not being able to print to any other printers!! I often print out scripts when patients cannot make up their minds which pharmacy they want it sent to.

Lelsie, here is hoping that by this evening you are eRx'ing, printing, and opening imported items with great speed.
Either way, keep AC. And your Porsche.

THIS IS WHY BETA TESTERS SHOULD NOT DISCUSS THE BETA ON THE BOARD.

After approximately for to six hours of beta testing, the scoop on this thread is that the script writer is faster than ever and what could have been reported as the TSP printer was fixed.

So, if the links were leaked, everyone would run out and install this version only to find that Gene discovered WITH ONLY TWO MORE HOURS OF BETA TESTING that their was still a bug with the script writer, albeit of smaller significance.

If the beta testers would test and send the information on this thread back to AC, it is very possible that the bug Gene found would be fixed over the weekend and a new version could be put out for beta testing.

This is how beta testing works. If not, this becomes a public beta IF these links got out. Amazing Charts should be the one deciding if this should be a public beta by posting the link on their web site.

Perhaps a compromise would be for me to make a thread that only beta testers could post on (and only they could read). But, even that doesn't seem to be a good option.

I realize how exciting it must be to let everyone know that the script writer is fixed. But, that needs to be tempered as part of beta testing is for it to be tested by those with WIN 7, those with peer-to-peer, those with server/client, those with slow computers, fast computers, etc.

Please try not to post any more information here but send your findings to the appropriate people at AC. I would suggest sending them back to Claire and Craig.
