I was just wondering if any of you folks who have spoken to support about various V 6.0.9 problems have been given a timeline as to when we might expect .10 to be coming down the pike to address the majority of this first release's bugs???

WeeGee board anyone????

I need to have 6.0.10 by mid September 2011 in order to get 90 days of "meaningless use" in for 2011 :-) Hurricane Irene did not help this situation. Currently using 5.1.7.

We're on 5. 26 ourselves.... Hey as valid licensed users we are entitled to use recent still supported slightly older versions of AC and it is our license # activate at AC's servers that verify and activate it as such... So I was honestly wondering, and I can't see any reason why not either... that we could honestly with other real USERS share copies of the program with one another because in the end AC always has the 90 clock in her to shut her off if not activated and that YES or NO is under the control of the creator back at their activation site.... so it seems legit to me. Obviously, openess and informing the home base would be polite and just the proper thing to do...

The reason I bring this up is I would very much like to install and upgrade to 5.29 just prior to Meaningless Use 6.9 so perhaps my wife could start doing the E-Rx's which would save her lots of effort and time, be pretty cool and impressive to our patients, and allow us to start collecting that incentive and not get "Banged" for not doing any of this CCHIT, CCHIT....

So any thoughts on this and does someone have a good clean copy backed-up somewhere that they could share??? I always back-up a couple of copies of the program so as to not have to download it to every computer that gets updated, just take the travel drive around to each computer... and two what if one day I need a copy and the internet is down or like this recent hurricane points out all too well, what if Jon and AC are down or unavailable at a critical time in our needs... Always seemed prudent. And again without our paid subscription, AC will crap-out on any one of us in 90 days at best anyway so no real threat or insult to AC as one has to be a paid in full users to activate it anyway...

You can get older versions from AC directly through tech support and I think some are up on the website.

I do not believe there is a way to tell when you converted from V5 to V6. Probably if you go into the tracking log.

You are using a certified version when you apply.

You have been using an EMR for > 90 days. Both are true statements. Just that you may not have been using a certified version for 90 days. Not sure how the wording goes. I started with V6 in April, but Medicaid IL is not ready to cert yet.

People are legitimately clamoring for V6.1.0, just as they were with 6.0.9.

The betas have remained in limited use because there must still be issues. Overall betas are stable but the speed bump issue (true of other versions of V6), which is dependent on the machines, may be enough to make sure 6.1.0 has corrected this issue and is not with it's own demons. Otherwise there will be a lot of nashing of teeth.

(I am using 6.0.8, didn't see the improvement in 6.0.9 being important enough, thought I would leap frog over it, but admit it is taking longer than I anticipated. I am patient.)

Funny thing was when I went there it seemed to me to have copies of 3.0 and 4.0 but NO 5.0 for some reason.... not even in the rollback options for folks doing 6.0 updates... you could click on rollback for the other two even old versions but not that last one, 5.0 It seemed sort of weird to me too but that is what I saw..

If I am suffering from Male Patterned Blindness again it would be really nice of someone, anyone to post a link to what I am to unaware of and unable to find myself.... sometimes I get so confused....

It will not solve the slowness of ERX but is overall quite stable. One great thing is that the MU calculations will now work as the 6.0.9 was getting a timeout error, but if you have been using 6.0.9 and doing the HM they will report accurately now.

From my understanding the changes between v5 and v6 are such that there is no clean roll-back.

If you want to see your data on one of the v6 platform, we are in-between provisioning flights and I have an instance that you could see your data on v6 if you are so inclined.

It does not solve the slowness of prescription writer (never had an issue with eRx) and it won't solve the problem of TSP800 and given I don't do MU, I don't really know what good it is?

Remember MTV's first video? Video killed the radio star.

Now it's MU killed the.....

Well, I am not going to finish it.

I know the TSP 800 printer is a pain - if you are not going to do the MU I can see holding off, but if you already have your printer not working then taking the plunge is okay. I know you may not believe me but I sent a few e-mails to a contact at AC and they are working on the TSP printer issue.

So is the speed issue and the Printer issue the only major problems at this point?

I have been using it this weekend and no problems so far. Scripts seem to be going OK with speed. Just starting to work with MU. Just upgraded from 5.1.17.

When script speeds are doing "OK", how do they compare to 5.029? About the same, or still significantly slower?

Still slower - completely variable as to user though, some people say fine, others feel it is slower.

Folks,
Just to make sure I have this all correct as I have a choice I may want to work on tomorrow when our office is closed and I might be able to get Nancy to let me have access to the network and computer for a good part of the day for updates, revisions and repairs...

1) Was regular printer, printing of Rx's on Regular HP, Brother, other normal brands of printer OK, Good, Reasonable on old, last version of 5, 5.29?

2) Was E-Rx'ing with 5.29 OK, with little or no Bugs worth mentioning (please mention anyway, I like going in Eyes Wide Open, Thanks) so that worked pretty well too, Yes or No???

In NYS we do not use that special printer for our Rx's. Instead we order special NYS supplied tamper resistant paper directly from the state.... So as much as this issue is a PITA for folks like Bert who are invested in and now dependent upon the proper functioning of this printer, such is not my concern for the foreseeable future. Goodness knows, knowing NYS one day it certainly could be, but not as of yet anyway....

I am concerned because we are a completely XP Pro, Tablet (version of Pro) P2P office with a majority of Nvidia video cards, even on my laptop which is not replaceable as it is part of the motherboard hard wired, soldered on tight...

So for the moment seeing that we too are attempting to resist the BORG and not do Meaningless Use for ethical social political reasons of protection of medical Records from general industry wide access and privacy we are only concerned about E-Rx'ing for small incentive and provider productivity improvements, ease of day to day job, stress reducer. If it is just going to be a cause of additive stress, then we might very well hold our cards for the moment...

Thanks Much,
Paul
